    Like your technique for edge tape, but 4th tape designs "separate" I've found. Too bad since the designs are what makes them POP.

    Thx for the video. Do I need to remove the original grip before adding the over grip? What are the pros and cons? Thx

    • @PickleballCentral
      @PickleballCentral 4 дня назад

      You're so welcome! Most players put their overgrip on over the original grip and replace the overgrip when it gets too dirty/broken down, and this is usually the best place to start if you are unsure. All that to say, there are a few reasons why you might remove the original grip first. 1. The stock grip is too large for your hand, and you want to reduce the circumference of the handle. Note that 1 overgrip by itself will not cushion the grip much at all, and depending on the material beneath, it may be uncomfortable to play with long term. 2. The stock grip is too cushioned or bulky and you want a more connected feel to the paddle. Some players will use 1-3 overgrips instead of a base grip to get their desired grip circumference with a sharper connection to the bevels of the handle. - Joseph

    For me it's come down to the Bantam TKL-C 14.3 vs the Pursuit Pro1 6.0 Lite. The latter obviously has a nice long handle. But on the Bantam side I just don't want to go up to the CX because the swing weight is too heavy. The Pursuit has a lower twist weight but I'm sure lead tape could improve that. Still...it's a tough decision.

    • @PickleballCentral
      @PickleballCentral 4 дня назад

      The feel of those two options is so similar, I really don't think you can go wrong. For me, the tiebreaker would go to the TKO-C as the handle length is still enough to use a two-hander, just not as comfortably as the Engage. Good luck deciding, and feel free to test drive either at Pickleballcentral.com risk free! - Joseph

    Which paddle best represents the Pro Staff lineup?

    • @PickleballCentral
      @PickleballCentral 15 дней назад

      I'd say the Blaze Tour 13 and 16 best represent the Pro Staff with the 16 playing closer to the RF model simply from it's higher balance and weight. The 13mm model probably has potential to be the closest with the addition of added lead or tungsten tape. - Joseph

    Very helpful, you mentioned quite a few grips, I am the one that has the two fingers out on the paddle as I’ve transitioned over from ping-pong. Do you think that this is the least effective grip or do you have one or two grips that you strongly encourage Learning

    We are trying to setup a small pickleball club here in Bulgaria , EU. Experience shows that is very hard to convince people to play the sport when , at the same time, they haven't seen the sport and they do not have a place to play . It took us 3 years to finally have a nice pickleball court (we converted a tennis court that we can rent) and a small community of 10-20 frequent players. Also, all accessories have to be imported. While paddles and balls are easy to find, a good net (on wheels, because the court is still used for tennis as well) is heavy and expensive (we are still looking for the best solution). Last thing - since we start from 0, we need to learn the techniques from RUclips only.

      If you consider yourself someone who can handle a higher swing weight paddle and want the extra forgiveness, 15mm. If you can’t handle higher weights or are a more aggressive player, go 11mm.

  • @drfredc
    @drfredc Месяц назад

    When adding tape to tennis racquets, it's common to also wrap weight at the very bottom of the handle. Typically, one starts by measuring the OEM balance point. Then the sides and/or top are weighted with tape -- typically at 10 & 2, which would be the top corners of a pickleball paddle.. A shorter pickleball paddle might be better with weight spread other ways. Then one temporarily wraps weight at the bottom of the handle to adjust the balance to keep the original balance. One can add or remove weight at the handle to move the balance up or down as desired. If adjusted to the OEM balance at the handle, you'll generally have a quick and stable paddle with a large sweet spot. AND have a more robust overall weight when powering thru a long stroke. At least that's how it works for weighting tennis racquets. With tennis weighting, if you don't add weight at the handle, you may be heading towards a case of tennis elbow... Not sure that applies to pickleball...Just beware...

    I've got the Viper Courts and they have scared me away from the brand. I'd been playing pickle ball for several months (I have a tennis, squash, racquetball background) and love the sport. I needed a new pair of shoes for the rotation. In all the months of playing in my other shoes, no problems with my feet. The second time I wore these Skechers I was sliding to my right at the kitchen line my foot rolled, and I broke the 1rst metatarsal of my right foot. Out for about 8 weeks but came back and have been playing for several months with no problems. This morning my regular shoes needed to air out and I'd left my backups at the office, so I grabbed these Sketchers for the second or third time since my accident. I was sliding to my left at the kitchen line, my foot rolled, and I broke the 1rst metatarsal of my left foot. Going to the Orthapedic surgeon tomorrow morning. These shoes are sized right and laced properly; I have no proof it's the shoes but find it very suspicious that I play literally hundreds of games wearing three other pairs of shoes without a problem, but in 2/5 times I've worn these I've broken my foot... and in exactly the same way. I do think the lateral support sucks and have thrown this pair into the trash can.
